I'm wrapped in trees and sky, the changing seasons. The air and light is different outdoors, you breathe it in, you feel it on your skin, it's full of life. Creating art, care taking a beautiful garden, walks, stargazing, soul nourishing weekends, time with the ones who really matter, making home a place you don't need a vacation from.
I love that we and those we love prove over and over that we are resilient and that home can and should be a place to slow down, relax, catch our breath, regain our sense of wonder, nurture our health, heal, focus on the good in life, find and give encouragement.
Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8 (NKJV)
No matter where I've traveled, art and a love of the outdoors has always been part of who I am. I find so much inspiration in the constant changes in nature, especially those that mark the passage of time. There's healing is the freshness of the air and a walk in a beautiful setting can melt away stress. I often paint with the goal of capturing some of this beauty and peacefulness and healing.
